Installation of the Amorphous Metal underfloor heating system is simple and straightforward - simply follow the installation guide that comes with the system.

Heat mats operate at 150 watts per m². Take each heat mat out of their packaging, lay them flat and allow them to acclimatise for several hours before fitting. Safely running power through each heat mat for 20-30 minutes prior to fitting will help the mats "relax" and sit flat on the base floor. Any tile adhesives used should completely cover the area - do not "dot & dab" as this will leave air pockets under the floor and will compromise the effectiveness of the heating system. Installations in bathrooms, kitchens, en-suites and any area with natural slate floor covering require grounding nets to be laid between the heat mat and the floor covering. This is a fine wire mesh 0.35mm thick connected to earth. The diagrams below show a typical build-up. In installations with a vinyl or LVT floor covering, solid board insulation is required with a minimum of 6mm self-levelling screed above the heat mat. This provides a secure & level surface upon which the vinyl flooring can be laid.
